If you sell a mix of small and large products on WooCommerce you know the problem: you offer free shipping over a threshold, but when a customer buys a bulky, expensive item the system zeroes out the shipping cost — and you lose money on the freight.
Solucom Shipping Control fixes this with three simple behaviours:
- Disables free shipping whenever the cart contains a product assigned to your chosen “bulky” shipping class.
- Hides paid rates when free shipping is legitimately available, so the cart stays clean and the customer is not confused.
- Shows a customisable notice on the product page of bulky items (title, message, position and colours — all editable from the settings, no code).
The plugin is lightweight (single file, no external services, no tracking) and fully translatable. An Italian translation is maintained on translate.wordpress.org and is delivered automatically to Italian sites as a language pack.
How it decides what is “bulky”
You create a WooCommerce shipping class (e.g. “Bulky”), copy its slug into the plugin settings, and assign that class to your oversized products. That is the only thing the plugin keys off — you stay in full control.

- In WordPress go to Plugins Add New Upload Plugin and upload the ZIP, then Activate. (Or copy the
solucom-shipping-controlfolder into/wp-content/plugins/.) - Make sure WooCommerce is installed and active.
- Go to Settings Solucom Shipping and:
- create a shipping class in WooCommerce Shipping Classes and paste its slug into the plugin;
- configure your Flat Rate (cost for the bulky class, 0 for no class, calculation “per most expensive class”);
- assign the shipping class to your bulky products.
- Customise the product-page notice (title, message, position, colours) on the same settings screen.
