It can edit text nested inside Groups and Columns when the text block itself is supported. Classic HTML support includes paragraphs, headings, list items, table cells, captions and definition lists when the rendered element can be matched to stored content. Only logged-in users who already have permission to edit a post can use Frontpen. Settings let administrators choose allowed roles, allow individual users, or block individual users. Per-user rules never grant WordPress editing capabilities the user does not already have. Lock a whole post from the edit screen, or add the CSS class **frontpen-no-edit** to an individual block. The server checks permissions, locks and allowed content before saving. #### What Frontpen does not edit Frontpen is for supported post content. It does not edit theme templates, menus, custom fields, page-builder widgets, WooCommerce prices, or product metadata. Unsupported posts and pages offer a link to the standard WordPress editor. Install and activate **Frontpen** from Plugins Add New, or upload the plugin ZIP. 2. Visit **Settings Front-End Editor** to choose roles, editable blocks and autosave behavior. 3. Published posts and pages exposed through the site’s WordPress REST API. It is a site-content search, not a web search or broken-link scanner. If search is unavailable, paste the destination URL instead. ### Does it work with Yoast SEO or Rank Math? Frontpen edits post content rather than SEO-plugin metadata. It does not add competing title tags, meta descriptions or sitemaps. No dedicated integration with those plugins is included; test your site’s combination on staging. ### How do manual saving and autosave differ? Autosave saves after typing pauses and when leaving a text region. With autosave disabled, use Save changes, Ctrl/Cmd+S inside a region, or Done. Clicking away from the text does not save in manual mode. ### What if a save fails or another editor changes the page? Your unsaved text remains on the page. Retry a connection failure with Save changes. When Frontpen reports a conflict, copy your unsaved text before reloading. Conflict checks reduce accidental overwrites but are not a shared real-time editor or an exclusive post lock. ### Can I undo an edit? After a successful save in the current page session, Undo last save restores the previous differing WordPress revision and reloads the page. Revisions must be enabled. Each region saves separately, so Undo restores the last revision, not an entire multi-region session. ### Can visitors see the editor? No. Frontpen loads its editing assets and controls only for permitted logged-in editors on supported content. ### Can I format text? Ctrl/Cmd+B and Ctrl/Cmd+I provide the browser’s bold and italic commands, and Shift +Enter inserts a line break. Frontpen sanitizes saved content to supported inline markup.
